Tip Top Terrace
The new updated Children's Museum is opening soon and the Yancy folk are super excited about it (as you can tell!)
The really cool thing I have loved about the Minnesota Children's Museum is their advocacy for the POWER OF PLAY! If you have read any of my previous blog posts, you know that I like to have a lot of down time in our day to well, play. Just play. Letting imaginations soar and creativity expand. And the MCM really fosters an atmosphere for that.
Check out and begin using the hashtag: #playmoreMN on social media to be a part of the movement.
We are avid museum go-ers and can't wait to tap into all the new exhibits but I have to say... I am REALLY pumped about this guy:
Tip Top Terrace
It's all about seeing, hearing and touching the city. And I don't know about you and your kids but when we begin driving into a big city, my kids are mesmerized by the big tall buildings surrounding them. So this exhibit gives them a close-up look at the magnitude of the city.
Tip Top Terrace boasts:
"Step into a surprising rooftop environment to take in the sights and sounds of the city. Make music with unexpected objects, sketch out your ideal city or simply take a moment to gaze at the clouds."
You can also use bamboo brushes and water to write messages on stone, explore familiar objects used in unexpected ways and unwind by having a chat or gazing at the clouds above.
This exhibit expresses wonder and curiousity and allows children to observe closely to discover details beneath the surface. Tip Top Terrace supports PLAY by allowing children to ask questions, let them lead the way and giving them time to explore!
Of course, living in Minnesota, it is opened seasonally.
THE BEST PART: I am running a giveaway for a family 4 pack of tickets to the museum! (The value of this pack is $52.00!)
All you need to do is share this blog post on social media and go like both myself and the MCM on Instagram! Easy peasy! Winner will be announced on IG tomorrow!

It's super cool.
