Ranch.

So, here we are. We bought a ranch (read previous post to get backstory.)

It is only 4 miles down the road from our current house so we pretty much go over there every day. We love it there. We can’t wait to be there and while we COULD move into the house currently on the land, we are planning to build a house and will be waiting to move in until that is complete.

We marvel at God’s goodness and His hand in this new property we OWN. It feels like a dream and we are slowly realizing its our actual reality.

Truth is, there is nothing schnazzy about this property. Really, when we step back and look at it, we have a LONG road ahead us. All of the 6 buildings on the land are in good shape but also need some serious upkeep and some renovations to make them much more useable. We are up for the job.

But instead of being overwhelmed with the process (which could easily happen) we are taking it bit by bit and process by process.

We named all our buildings this week:

The garage

The apartment

The horse barn

The dance floor

The studio

The shed

The farmhouse

The poolhouse

The guesthouse

There are so many things to be named but as we keep talking about what we are planning to renovate and work on first, we have to keep describing each area and make sure we are on the same page. So, we needed a naming system so we could easily identify each location of the ranch. It was kind of fun.

And we would like to formally introduce to you the name of our ranch:

THE RED TREE RANCH

And yes, you can already follow us on Instagram here. We will be sharing different projects and processes and events happening at the ranch and bringing you along for the ride!

Also, check out this post from my hubby on God’s hand over this transaction.

We have already filled our garage with so many vehicles to store for the winter from renters and are working on the next project on the land. Renovating a little studio apartment attached to the garage and building our house are next on the list. As well as renovating the house already on the land and prepping that as a rental unit. Stay tuned for more updates! Life is a wild ride!

To give a brief summary of the name RED TREE RANCH- READ THIS.

Basically, it is another version of “stop and smell the roses.” Pause and reflect and breath life in and see all the beauty around you. It’s quite remarkable. We want that to exude from our ranch. Of living life fully and embracing every piece of beautiful moments we are given. We hope this property makes for the most magical memories for our children and provides a way to bless so many people over the years.

Welcome to The Red Tree Ranch!
